Buffett Indicator

Total US corporate equity market value (Fed Z.1) as a percentage of nominal GDP — Warren Buffett's preferred market valuation metric. Below 80% historically = strong buy; above 120% = caution; above 150% = overvalued. Hit a record ~210% in late 2021.

This indicator is computed by MacroLab from two FRED series: NCBEILQ027S divided by GDP, scaled by × 100. Both input series are sourced from the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) database.
